 Nice stuffed animal, but web features overrated August 13, 2010

After watching my niece play around for a little while and sticking around to guide her through the parts where she needed some help the first time, I thought maybe there is some good in it. The truth is though, most of the stuff available to be done is somewhat above her reading level, and you have to earn the points to make purchases so her "shopping" experience is much limited by this. She would be diverted by the games if there were any that suited her, but unfortunately, with all the features of this site, there are not many games (or any except playing with the virtual toy) that match her age (5). One of the things she was able to buy in the "shop" was a party pack, which is kinda cool in theory but since I was never able to successfully set it up, remains just that: nice in theory.
I like the quiz section for my older nieces, but they don't spend much time on it, and the time I spent, I felt was too long, and they would probably lose interest even faster. Perhaps the deluxe version for which one must pay extra, has much more scope for online entertainment but the basic version basically is a colossal waste of time. The best compliment I can give: the toy is cuddly! Forget the web features, unless you are willing to pay for the "deluxe" membership because there is no way there are endless hours of fun in this for your child. Please note the "fun" rating is not for the stuffed toy but for the web features which are so greatly touted and sadly lacking.

I did not receive the Webkinz Cheeky Monkey that I ordered. The Monkey that I received did not have the W on his paw, he did not have a Webkins tag. I was disappointed because I ordered the Cheeky Monkey to replace the Cheeky Monkey that my grandson adores.

My kids love Webkinz, so the monkey was a hit! It is super soft, as many of them are, and quite durable. They love visiting the online "world" for their pets.

Our little guy had left his "monkey" at home when he and his mother went out of town for 3 days and nights. I couldn't get his monkey to him fast enough but I knew we needed a second one just in case anything happened to his original monkey.
It had been discontinued but after trying Amazon and finding Cheeky Monkey I was tickled, so I ordered it and it arrived very quickly.
